Participants! Please remember to complete your blood work after each of your encounters with the CANPWR team! This gives us an idea of where you started medically, and how well you are improving!
Study Components:

The CANPWR study is introduced at your first visit with Dr. Glenn Berall

Participants are followed for 3 years, and are seen twice in the first year, then annually

Questionnaire:

Asks questions to help us quide you towards healthier lifestyles and behaviours

Helps us to understand what factors are more important when treating obesity

Blood work:

Taking a sample of blood helps us to understand and track changes in factors that are related to obesity (Diabetes, High Cholesterol, Liver Disease)

How long does the questionnaire take to complete?

After the clinic visit, the questionnaire takes anywhere between 15-30 minutes.

Meet Our Team
Dr. Glenn Berall MD,FRCPC
Research Coordinator
Dr. Berall is a pediatrician who has specialized in pediatric nutrition for over 30 years. He currently works at the Infant Child and Adolescent Nutrition Clinic. Dr. Berall has written 3 books and has published over 30 articles. Dr. Berall recently served 10 years as Chief of Pediatrics and Medical Program Director at North York General Hospital, Toronto. He has also received several teaching and administration awards, and has lectured all over the world.
Dr. Justin Singh MD
Research Associate
Dr. Singh is a graduate from St. George's University in Grenada. He has spent the last 3 years with Dr. Berall at the ICAN Clinic, and joined CANPWR in 2014. His interests are in preventative and primary care.
Dr. Caroline Gunaratnam MD
Research Associate
Dr. Gunaratnam has recently joined CANPWR. She has been at the ICAN Clinic for 3 years, and is excited to join the team!
